Protecting Our Water
As your representative I will protect our water from big business using it for non-agriculture and non-human needs like data centers and large private golf courses.  Our priority must be ensuring a reliable water supply for our farms, ranches, families, and future generations. There is only so much water and we have to protect it.  

Supporting Rural Health Care
Our rural hospitals are essential to the health and well-being of our communities, and a strong pillar of our rural economy. I will oppose cuts that threaten Medicare, Medicaid, and Medicaid expansion because these programs help keep our hospitals open, support thousands of Montana families, and ensure that seniors, children, and rural residents have access to care close to home.

• To better understand the impact the loss of rural healthcare would have we need to ask the question: if we were to lose our small local hospitals, what would people do for health care?  People in eastern Montana would have to drive 3 to 4 hours for health care. We cannot expect the every day person to travel that far for basic or emergency care. It is important to also recognize that 60% of all the money rural hospitals receive come from Medicaid and Medicare and that 30% of Montana’s children are covered by Medicaid Expansion.

Investing in Eastern Montana
Eastern Montana deserves the same attention and investment as the rest of the state. I will work to improve infrastructure, strengthen our roads and schools, support projects like repairing the Glendive levee, and attract new businesses that create good-paying jobs and long-term economic growth.

Keeping Family Farming Strong
I want to find a way for our young farmers to purchase land in the state.  We have a huge problem: no young people are moving back to the farms. One of the major hurdles is that there is no feasible financial way to purchase land. We need to have something to encourage younger people to move back to the farms instead of moving to the cities.

The future of agriculture depends on the next generation. I will support policies that help new farmers afford land, including expanding state beginning farmer programs and exploring targeted tax incentives to help young producers get established and keep family farms thriving.

Working Together for Montana
I believe leadership is about solving problems, not blaming others. I will take responsibility for what I do and not blame the other guy. I will work with Republicans, Democrats, and Independents to find practical solutions that put Montanans first.

The people of Montana are different from other states.  We elected the first woman senator.  There are 12 different tribes in this state and many people from different ways of life and backgrounds.  When our ancestors homesteaded Eastern Montana they all had to work together to survive.  Our state's history was built on neighbors working together, and that same spirit of cooperation is how we will build a stronger future for House District 33 and all of Montana.
